Description
The Hellraiser C-8 FR takes Schecter’s extended-range platform and adds a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge, giving 8-string players dive-bomb capability alongside the tuning stability that heavy, low tunings demand. Under the quilted maple top sits a mahogany body paired with a 3-piece mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods, set into the body via Schecter’s Ultra Access neck joint for cleaner reach up the fretboard.
Playability leans fast: a Thin ‘C’ neck profile, 28″ scale length for solid low-string tension, and a 16″ radius rosewood fretboard loaded with 24 X-Jumbo frets. Abalone Gothic Cross inlays and abalone/multi-ply binding dress up the black cherry finish, while Grover tuners and black chrome hardware keep things stable and cohesive-looking.
Tone comes from a matched set of active EMG 808 pickups in the bridge and neck, wired to independent volume controls, a shared tone knob, and a 3-way switch for quick voicing changes – all powered by a clip-in 9-volt housed in an accessible battery compartment. Metal knurled knobs with set screws round out the control feel.
