Description
The Schecter C-1 Platinum takes the brand’s staple C-1 shape and dresses it up with quilted maple over a mahogany body, finished in a See-Thru Black Satin that lets the wood grain show through. Silver/platinum multi-ply binding traces the arched top, and platinum offset dot inlays with a gothic cross at the 12th fret give the rosewood board a distinctive look without going overboard.
Under the hood, this is built for heavier styles. The EMG 81 in the bridge delivers tight, aggressive gain, while the EMG 85 in the neck fills out warmer leads and rhythm tones – a pairing that’s become a go-to for metal and hard rock players. Both run active off a 9-volt battery housed in a clip-in compartment, so swaps are quick.
The three-piece maple neck is set into the body with Schecter’s Ultra Access joint, opening up the upper frets for solos without the usual heel obstruction. A thin ‘C’ profile, 14″ fretboard radius, and 24 extra-jumbo frets make fast runs and bends feel effortless, and the 25.5″ scale keeps string tension familiar for players coming from most standard electrics.
Rounding out the build: a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-thru-body stringing for extra sustain, and Grover tuners for dependable tuning stability. Satin chrome hardware and metal knurled knobs keep the aesthetic understated. Comes strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings.
