Description
The Schecter C-1 FR S Apocalypse takes the familiar C-1 shape and arms it for serious high-gain work. A swamp ash body with an arched top and black 1-ply binding sits under a set-neck (Ultra Access) joint, finished in the aggressive Red Reign colorway with satin black hardware throughout.
The multi-ply maple/padauk neck is reinforced with carbon fiber rods and cut into a thin ‘C’ profile, measuring .787″ at the first fret and .866″ at the twelfth. It’s topped with an ebony fretboard carrying a 12″-16″ compound radius, Roman numeral inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side dots, all fretted with 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets for fast, low-effort bending. Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners keep tuning stable, while the Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge and nut deliver dive-bomb-ready tremolo performance.
Electronics are where this guitar gets interesting: a Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI humbucker anchors the bridge for tight, high-output riffing, while a Sustainiac pickup in the neck position feeds back into the signal for sustained notes and harmonics on demand. Controls include Volume, Tone, Intensity, a 3-way pickup switch, a 2-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a 3-way Sustainiac mode switch (Fundamental-Mix-Harmonic), all powered by a 9-volt battery housed in a clip-in compartment.
