Description
David Grissom built his reputation on tone that cuts through a mix without ever sounding harsh, and the SE DGT carries that philosophy into a more accessible package. This isn’t a stripped-down mahogany-only build—it pairs a mahogany body with a maple top, giving you a bit more snap and definition on top of that woody midrange growl Grissom is known for.
The DGT “S” humbuckers do a lot of the heavy lifting here, delivering warm, articulate output that responds well to pick attack whether you’re playing clean or pushing an amp into breakup. Grissom’s fingerprints are all over the control layout too: independent volume knobs for each pickup let you blend levels on the fly, while the single master tone knob hides a push-pull coil split for cleaner, single-coil-voiced tones when you need them. A smooth PRS tremolo rounds out the playing feel, offering pitch nuance without sacrificing tuning stability.
The DGT neck profile is shaped for comfort over long sets, sitting on a 25″ scale rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and signature moon inlays for that understated PRS elegance. This particular example wears a classic Gold Top finish, and it ships with a gig bag for easy transport between home and stage.
