Built from L.R. Baggs’ work on their Handcrafted Video Sessions and time spent in top Nashville studios, the Session DI takes that refined studio sound and puts it in a stompbox for live use. Rather than just boosting your acoustic pickup’s signal, it reshapes it with the same tonal touches an experienced engineer would apply behind a mixing console.
At the heart of the pedal is a proprietary analog saturation circuit voiced specifically for acoustic guitar. It adds warmth, harmonic depth, and a smoother overall feel to your signal, the kind of subtle richness that’s usually reserved for post-production work.
The Comp EQ section takes a different approach than typical compressors. Instead of squashing your whole signal, it splits it into three narrow frequency bands, each with its own touch-sensitive compression that reacts to your playing dynamics in real time. Strum harder and the compression kicks in more; play softly and it backs off, letting your guitar’s natural voice come through without the muddiness or harshness that plague many piezo pickups.
