Description
The Rhoads shape is Jackson’s signature statement, and the RRXMG delivers it with the neck-through-body construction and active electronics that shred players demand. A basswood body pairs with a 3-piece maple neck-through design (graphite reinforced) for sustain and stability, while the compound-radius rosewood fingerboard eases from a tighter 12″ curve near the nut into a flatter 16″ near the heel – open chords stay comfortable and bends up high won’t fret out.
Onboard, the active EMG 85 in the neck and EMG 81 in the bridge give you that classic metal voicing: tight low end, glassy mids, and highs that cut without getting brittle. A 3-way blade switch lets you move between them or blend both. The Floyd Rose Special double-locking 2-point tremolo keeps tuning solid through aggressive whammy use, and 24 jumbo frets over a 25.5″ scale give you room to run.
Details worth noting:
- Basswood body with gloss polyurethane finish, black with yellow bevels
- 3-piece maple neck-through-body, graphite reinforced, Speed Neck profile
- Rosewood fingerboard, 12″-16″ compound radius, pearloid sharkfin inlays
- 1-ply white binding on neck and headstock; black painted headstock with white Jackson logo
- Floyd Rose Special locking nut, 1.75″ width
- Jackson sealed die-cast tuners, black hardware, knurled dome control knobs
- Master volume, master tone, 3-position blade switching
- Strung with NPS .009-.042
