Description
The Pro Plus SLA3 is Jackson’s answer for players who need a neck that keeps up with their hands. Its arched okoume body pairs with a three-piece through-body maple/walnut neck, reinforced with graphite rods to resist warping from heat and humidity. The back of the neck wears a hand-rubbed oil finish, so it feels broken-in from the first chord.
Up top, the bound ebony fingerboard uses a 12″-16″ compound radius — curvier near the nut for effortless chording, then flattening as you climb toward the 24 jumbo stainless-steel frets, letting you bend hard without fretting out. Pearloid piranha tooth inlays and Luminlay side dots keep you oriented whether the lights are blazing or the stage is pitch black.
Tone comes from a trio of Seymour Duncan pickups: a direct-mount Distortion TB-6 humbucker at the bridge for a hot, low-end-heavy attack, flanked by a Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil in the middle and an SSL-6 single-coil at the neck for glassy top end and scooped mids. A five-way blade switch with single volume and tone controls opens up everything from pristine cleans to searing lead tones. The Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo, recessed for comfortable picking, delivers dive-bombs with rock-solid tuning stability and precise intonation.
