Description
The PDX-2 Demmelition King V translates Phil Demmel’s touring rig into a spec sheet built for aggressive, precision playing. The angular Demmelition body is basswood under a gloss finish, styled in Red with Black Bevels, and paired with a three-piece through-body maple neck reinforced with graphite for stability under detuned riffing and heavy tremolo use.
The bound rosewood fingerboard uses a 12″-16″ compound radius, so chords stay comfortable near the nut while bends and solos up top resist fretting out. 24 jumbo frets and pearloid sharkfin inlays complete the fast, familiar Jackson feel, while the Speed Neck profile and 1.6875″ nut keep things slim in hand. A Floyd Rose R3 locking nut and Floyd Rose Special double-locking 2-point tremolo handle pitch dives and dive-bombs without drifting out of tune, all finished in black hardware to match the bevel accents.
Tone comes from a pair of EMG HZ humbuckers in an HH layout, wired to dual volume controls and a 3-way blade switch for bridge, combined, or neck selection. It’s a straightforward, high-output setup suited to riff-driven metal and thrash leads.
