At the heart of the G9240 is the Gretsch “Ampli-Sonic” resonator cone, a diaphragm hand-spun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99% pure aluminum. This is the component that separates a true resonator from an acoustic with a metal cover plate – it’s what generates the volume and tonal character these instruments are known for.
