Description
The Gretsch G9221 Bobtail Round-Neck brings the classic resonator sound with a modern twist: a full steel body paired with Gretsch’s Ampli-Sonic “Spider” cone, spun from 99% pure aluminum for a punchy, articulate voice with plenty of volume and sustain. Whether you’re playing slide, fingerstyle, or driving rhythm, this guitar delivers the metallic shimmer and midrange bite that resonators are known for.
The round mahogany neck gives players a comfortable, substantial feel in hand, while the rosewood fingerboard offers smooth playability up and down the neck. Grover Sta-Tite machine heads keep tuning stable and precise, even with heavy playing or slide use.
Built for both stage and studio, the Bobtail Steel is equipped as an acoustic/electric, featuring a Fishman Nashville pickup so you can plug straight into an amp or PA without sacrificing the resonator’s signature tone. It’s a versatile choice for blues, bluegrass, country, or roots players who want an instrument with real character and projection.
