Description
The G6137TCB Panther marks Gretsch’s 130th anniversary with a Professional Collection build that bridges vintage archtop character and modern stage reliability. Its double-cutaway, three-ply maple body runs 1 3/4″ deep with a 16″ lower bout, arched top and back, and classic f-holes finished in gloss white.
What sets this Panther apart is the spruce center block running the full length of the body. It’s chambered at the lower bout to keep weight in check, but its real job is tonal: spruce adds liveliness and sustain, while the block itself tames body resonance so the guitar stays composed even at higher gain. The pinned rosewood bridge base extends roughly 5/8″ over each side of the block, pushing string vibration into the f-hole chambers for a tone that’s full without turning to mush on the low end.
Dual High Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups handle the electronics, wired through a 3-position toggle and independent neck/bridge volumes plus master volume and tone. The three-piece maple neck carries a bound rosewood board with a 12″ radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid thumbnail inlays, while a single-ply bound headstock displays the pearloid Gretsch logo.
Hardware rounds out the package with genuine Gretsch touches:
- Adjusto-Matic bridge on a pinned rosewood base
- Bigsby B6C vibrato tailpiece
- Grover Sta-Tite tuners and Schaller strap locks
- Chrome hardware throughout, top-mounted output jack, G-Arrow control knobs
- Silver pickguard with Panther graphic
A G6267 deluxe hardshell case is included, ready for transport to the next gig or session.
