Description

The G6121-1959 Chet Atkins Solid Body carries forward one of Gretsch’s most storied designs, pairing a chambered mahogany body with an arched laminated maple top for a resonant, focused voice with plenty of sustain. The single-cutaway shape and 1.75″ body depth keep it comfortable on the strap while the aged binding on the body, fingerboard, and headstock nods to the model’s vintage roots.

A one-piece mahogany neck runs the show, fitted with a zero fret, 12″ radius ebony fingerboard, and mother-of-pearl Neo Classic thumbnail inlays. At a 24.6″ scale and 1.6875″ nut width, it strikes a familiar balance for players moving between electric styles. Twenty-two frets and bound fingerboard edges round out a neck built for smooth, confident playing.

Tone comes from dual High-Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups under gold covers, controlled by a 3-position pickup toggle and a 3-position master tone switch that shifts between full pickup output and two shades of high-frequency roll-off. The ebony-based rocking bar bridge works with a Bigsby B3C vibrato tailpiece for expressive pitch shifts, while gold-plated Grover Sta-Tite tuners keep things stable.

Cosmetic details include a gold plexi pickguard with Nashville motif, G-arrow control knobs, horseshoe and Gretsch logo headstock inlays, and a mahogany stain finish with vintage orange top. Includes:

  • G6238 Deluxe Hardshell Case
