Left-handed guitarists know the frustration of Gretsch hollow bodies being scarce in their orientation—the G5420LH solves that with a proper mirror-image build, not an afterthought conversion. It’s a fully hollow instrument with a 5-ply maple body finished in gloss black, using parallel tone bar bracing and an internal sound post to keep things resonant and feedback-resistant at stage volume.
The heart of its voice comes from dual Blacktop Filter’Tron humbucking pickups, delivering that punchy, articulate character Gretsch built its reputation on—clear enough for chiming rockabilly runs, dark and full when you dig in with distortion. Controls are laid out for real-world use: individual volumes for neck and bridge, a master volume with treble-bleed circuit so your tone doesn’t collapse as you roll off, master tone, and a 3-position toggle for switching between pickups or blending both.
The maple neck carries a comfortable “U” profile with a 24.6″ scale, 12″ radius rosewood fingerboard, and 22 medium jumbo frets, all topped with pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. A Graph Tech NuBone nut and Adjusto-Matic bridge on a secured rosewood base keep tuning and intonation stable.
