Description
The G2655T Streamliner Center Block Jr. takes the classic Gretsch semi-hollow formula and tunes it for players who push their amps harder. A spruce center block runs the length of the laminated maple body, tightening up the low end and killing unwanted feedback so you can dig into overdrive and high-gain tones without the guitar howling back at you on stage.
Driving the sound are a pair of Broad’Tron BT-2S humbucking pickups, designed specifically for this Streamliner line to deliver a high-output voice with more defined bass, clear top end, and a midrange that has some bite. Controls are kept simple and familiar: individual volume knobs for the neck and bridge pickups, a master volume, master tone, and a three-way switch to move between them. A Bigsby-licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece adds pitch shimmer and vibrato on tap, while the anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and synthetic bone nut keep tuning stable and intonation accurate string to string.
The white-bound neck carries a thin “U” profile that suits both rhythm chording and faster lead lines, built with a 12″ radius laurel fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid Big Block inlays for that vintage-modern look.
Style-wise, it’s all Gretsch: enlarged F-holes for extra acoustic breathing room, aged white body binding with upgraded purfling, nickel hardware, a three-ply black pickguard, and the smaller-bodied Center Block Jr. shape that makes it easier to handle than a full-size hollowbody.
