Description
The G2655 Streamliner Center Block Jr. takes the vintage-cool Gretsch hollow body formula and shrinks it down into a smaller, stage-friendly package without losing an ounce of attitude. Finished in a striking Gunmetal gloss, this double-cutaway model is built for players who want that unmistakable Gretsch snap and jangle but need something that can handle higher-gain rock and roll without howling back at them.
Two key features drive the sound here: a pair of Broad’Tron BT-2S humbucking pickups and an internal spruce center block that runs the length of the body. The BT-2S pickups were designed specifically for this collection, delivering tighter low end, clear top end, and a midrange growl that stays articulate even when pushed hard. The spruce block reinforces the top and clamps down on unwanted feedback, so you can dig in at volume on a loud stage without fighting the guitar.
Controls are laid out the traditional Gretsch way — individual volume knobs for the neck and bridge pickups, a master volume, a master tone, and three-way pickup switching — giving you quick access to a wide range of tones. The nato neck carries a thin “U” profile, aged white binding, and a 12-inch radius laurel fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid Big Block inlays, making both chords and lead lines feel effortless. A Gretsch V-Stoptail tailpiece, Adjusto-Matic bridge, and synthetic bone nut keep tuning stable through aggressive playing.
Visually, it’s all Gretsch: enlarged F-holes, aged white binding with upgraded purfling, a three-ply tortoise pickguard, nickel hardware, and arched laminated maple body construction. The smaller body makes it easy to handle on stage while still projecting that big, throaty Gretsch voice.
