The G2420 Streamliner takes Gretsch’s classic hollow body formula and updates it for players who need more punch and definition without losing the character that made these guitars famous. At the heart of the tone are Broad’Tron BT-2S humbucking pickups, built specifically for the Streamliner line to deliver tighter low end, articulate highs, and a midrange that pushes forward in a mix better than a traditional Filter’Tron would.
The neck and bridge volume controls, master tone, master volume, and three-way switching give you a familiar Gretsch layout to shape that output. Underneath your fretting hand is a nato neck with a thin “U” profile and white binding, topped with a laurel fingerboard carrying a 12″ radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid Hump Block inlays — a combination that favors both rhythm work and quick lead runs. Tuning stays put thanks to the Adjusto-Matic bridge on a secured laurel base, a synthetic bone nut, and the stylish Chromatic II tailpiece.
Visually, this is unmistakably Gretsch: arched laminated maple top and back, enlarged F-holes for extra acoustic breath, aged white binding with upgraded purfling, a three-ply tortoise pickguard, vintage-style black knobs, and nickel hardware, all finished in Village Amber.
