Description
The G100CE Synchromatic Cutaway pulls its DNA straight from Gretsch’s early 1940s archtops, right down to the period-correct headstock shape and pearloid Gretsch logo inlay. It’s built around a laminated spruce top with parallel tone bar bracing paired to laminated maple back and sides, giving it that airy, resonant hollow-body character projected through a set of dual f-holes.
The three-piece maple neck carries a bound rosewood fingerboard fitted with extra-broad frets and vintage-style pearloid wide-block markers, all set to a comfortable 25.5″ scale and 1.6875″ nut width. Multiple body bindings and a faux tortoiseshell pickguard round out the old-school look, while volume and tone knobs mounted right on the pickguard keep your hands close to where the tone lives.
Plug in and the Gretsch single-coil neck pickup delivers that woody, jangly archtop voice that made these guitars a go-to for rockabilly and jazz players alike. A height-adjustable Synchromatic bridge and harp-shaped tailpiece let you fine-tune action and intonation, while die-cast tuners and a synthetic bone nut keep tuning stable night after night.
