The 5th Avenue Kingpin II Cutaway brings the character of a 1950s archtop into a modern, playable package. Godin builds the body from Canadian Wild Cherry, with a molded arched top, back, and sides that give this guitar more low-mid projection and volume than a typical archtop acoustic. Classic f-holes, cream binding, a floating pickguard, and a contoured high-gloss headstock complete the vintage-forward look, all finished in a Custom Polished Cognac Burst reminiscent of 19th-century French polish.
Under the hood, two Godin Kingpin P90 single-coil pickups deliver that unmistakable vintage bite – clear, present, with just enough attitude to cut through a mix. A single volume and tone control keep things simple and intuitive, while the Graphtech Adjustable Tusq bridge lets you dial in intonation with confidence.
The neck is Silver Leaf Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, cut to a 24.84″ scale and 16″ radius, with a 1.72″ width at the nut – a comfortable, fast-playing profile that suits everything from chord-melody jazz to slide and Delta blues. Whether you’re chasing alt-country twang, rockabilly snap, or straight-ahead rock tone, this archtop covers the ground both acoustically and plugged in.
