Description
The ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow builds on G&L’s traditional bolt-on single-cutaway shape by hollowing out the swamp ash body with twin voice chambers and an f-hole. The result is a guitar that keeps the bite of a solid ASAT but opens up the low end and adds air to the highs, letting the midrange breathe a bit differently than its solid-body sibling.
Pickup-wise, this Bluesboy sticks to the formula that’s made the design a favorite among players chasing versatility: a G&L AS4255C alnico humbucker in the neck for thick, vocal warmth, and Leo Fender’s own MFD single-coil in the bridge for cutting clarity and harmonic complexity. The bridge pickup sits in a classic boxed-steel bridge with individual brass saddles, giving you precise intonation without straying from the vintage-correct look. Switch between them, blend them with the 3-way selector, or ride the volume and tone knobs — this guitar rewards experimentation.
The Hard-Rock Maple neck wears a rosewood fingerboard with a medium C profile, 9″ radius, and 22 medium jumbo nickel frets, all sitting atop a 25 1/2″ scale and a 1 5/8″ nut width. Sealed-back tuners with an 18:1 ratio keep things stable string to string.
Finished in Tobacco Sunburst, this Tribute Series build delivers the character and craftsmanship G&L is known for, at a price that doesn’t demand a custom-shop budget.
