The Fullerton Deluxe Legacy takes the most requested combinations off G&L’s Build To Order sheet and turns them into a ready-to-play package. It’s a guitar built around decades of G&L wisdom, pulling design cues that span from ’60s-inspired tone to ’90s-era refinements, all wrapped in a neck finished with G&L’s Clear Tint Satin for a smooth, lived-in feel right out of the case.
Three finish and wood pairings are offered:
- Jet Black over Alder with a 3-ply parchment pickguard, available with maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Old School Tobacco over Swamp Ash with a 3-ply parchment pickguard, available with maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Blonde over Swamp Ash with a 3-ply tortoise pickguard and maple fingerboard
At its core, the Legacy borrows the best of Leo Fender’s S-500 and Comanche designs, pairing them with classic Alnico V single-coil pickups for that unmistakable vintage snap. Where it steps beyond tradition is the P.T.B. system — Passive Treble and Bass controls that go well beyond a standard tone knob. Instead of one blunt sweep, you get two independent passive controls to carve treble and bass separately, giving you far more shaping power over your tone than a typical single-coil guitar allows.
Every Fullerton Deluxe Legacy is built in G&L’s original Fullerton, California facility — the same Fender Avenue home where Leo Fender’s company has produced instruments since 1980. For players chasing authentic Alnico single-coil character with the benefit of modern refinements and USA craftsmanship, the Legacy remains one of the most complete expressions of G&L’s design philosophy.
