The Espada HH revives a body shape Leo Fender sketched out back in 1969 and had tucked away at CLF Research for decades—now built as a proper double-humbucker guitar with a distinct personality of its own.
Loaded with G&L’s alnico humbucker pair, the neck pickup stays clean and articulate while the bridge unit brings extra output and grit, the same combination found across G&L’s respected HH lineup. The wide Espada control plate keeps things intuitive: volume, treble, and bass knobs in chrome CLF Research caps, joined by two mini-toggles for coil-splitting either pickup and killing the output entirely when you need a hard mute.
Anchoring it all is the Saddle Lock hardtail bridge, a design Leo Fender finalized in 1979 that’s still prized for its sustain, comfortable string spacing, and clean visual lines.
