Description
The Player Stratocaster HSS takes Fender’s signature formula and adds some muscle. That Strat DNA is all there—clear top end, snappy midrange, solid low end—but the bridge humbucker opens up a heavier, thicker voice when you need it, while the middle and neck single-coils keep the glassy, articulate tone Strats are known for.
An alder body sits under a satin-neck, gloss-headstock maple neck carved in Fender’s Modern “C” profile—easy in the hand no matter what style you play. The pau ferro fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5″ radius, so bends and fast runs feel natural whether you’re in position 1 or reaching for the dusty end of the neck.
The Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker at the bridge delivers warmth and size for rock and lead work, and it’s flanked by Alnico 5 Strat single-coils in the middle and neck for that crisp, chiming tone the model built its reputation on. Flip through the 5-way blade switch and you’ve got everything from full humbucker growl to split-coil quack to that classic Strat neck-pickup sweetness.
Fender refined the 2-point synchronized tremolo for smoother arm travel and better tuning stability, so vibrato work stays musical without knocking things out of tune. Rounding out the build: a synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines, 3-ply parchment pickguard, and the 4-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that’s been a Fender hallmark for decades.
