Description
The Player Stratocaster HSS takes the classic Strat blueprint—glassy top end, snappy mids, tight low end—and adds serious low-end muscle by swapping in a Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker at the bridge. Pair that with the Alnico 5 single-coils in the middle and neck positions, and you’ve got a guitar that moves easily from thick, warm lead tones into that unmistakable clear, chiming Strat quack.
The alder body wears a gloss polyester Black finish, mounted with a 3-ply Parchment pickguard for classic contrast. The maple neck is carved in the Modern “C” profile, finished satin on the back for a fast, comfortable grip and gloss on the headstock face. A 9.5″ radius Pau Ferro fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and white dot inlays gives you smooth bends and easy access up high, while the synthetic bone nut keeps tuning stable at the headstock end.
Fender refined the 2-point synchronized tremolo on this series for smoother arm travel and reduced friction at the pivot points, so your tuning holds up even after heavy whammy use. A 5-way blade switch unlocks the full range of pickup combinations, including a coil-tap-style blend of the middle pickup with the humbucker’s inner coil, controlled by master volume and dual tone knobs.
