Description
The Modern Player Telecaster Plus HSS breaks from tradition in the best way. Fender took the familiar Tele shape and loaded it with an H/S/S pickup array – a Modern Player humbucker at the bridge, a Modern Player Stratocaster single-coil in the middle, and a Modern Player Tele pickup at the neck – giving you a tonal palette well beyond the usual twang-and-thump Tele setup. A mini-toggle switch splits the bridge humbucker down to single-coil duty, so you’re never more than a flick away from a completely different voice.
The pine body carries the classic outline but adds its own resonant character, finished here in warm Honey Burst. A C-shaped maple neck with a maple fretboard keeps things fast and familiar under the hand, with a 9.5″ radius and 22 jumbo frets that make bending and lead work feel effortless. Five-way switching opens up combinations from bridge-only snap to neck-only warmth, with every stop in between, controlled by simple master volume and tone knobs topped with knurled chrome-dome caps.
Hardware stays true to Fender’s vintage-inspired playbook: a six-saddle, strings-through-body hardtail bridge borrowed from Stratocaster design for solid sustain and tuning stability, vintage-style tuners, and nickel/chrome finishing throughout. It’s a guitar built for players who love the Telecaster idea but want more sonic range to work with.
