Description
Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World spent hours reworking his old Fender TC-90 with Fender’s build team, and the JA-90 Telecaster Thinline is the result of that back-and-forth. It’s a semi-hollow ash body fitted with a maple neck, delivering the airy resonance of a Thinline alongside the bite you expect from a Tele.
Tone comes from a pair of Seymour Duncan soap-bar P-90s – an SP90-3B Vintage in the bridge and an SP90-1NRWRP reverse-wound/reverse-polarity unit in the neck – wired to independent volume and tone knobs for each pickup. That means real control over blending grit and warmth through the 3-way toggle, whether you’re on the bridge alone, the neck alone, or both together.
