Tim Shaw’s V-Mod single-coil pickups anchor the sound here, with each of the three pickups voiced independently and alnico magnets mixed by position rather than treated as interchangeable parts. The result leans into vintage character without losing clarity or output. A treble-bleed circuit keeps the top end intact as you roll back the volume knob, so the tone doesn’t collapse into mud when you back off.
The neck is where this guitar sets itself apart from older Strats: a modern ‘Deep C’ profile sits between a Modern C and a U shape, giving your hand more to hold onto without feeling bulky. Combine that with 22 narrow-tall frets and you get accurate bends and cleanly intonated chords all the way up the 9.5-inch radius rosewood fingerboard. A bone nut adds sustain and tuning stability at the source.
Small hardware upgrades matter too—the pop-in tremolo arm locks into place and holds its tension under aggressive playing, so you’re not chasing a wobbly bar mid-song.
