Description
The Stratocaster needs no introduction. Since 1954 it’s been the shape and sound that defined rock, blues, and everything that followed, and the American Professional series carries that torch forward without rewriting the formula. This one wears a classic 3-Color Sunburst finish over an alder body with a rosewood fingerboard.
At the heart of the tone are three V-Mod single-coil pickups, designed by pickup guru Tim Shaw. Rather than using identical coils at each position, he voiced each pickup individually and blended different alnico magnet types to get output and character suited to bridge, middle, and neck duty. A treble-bleed circuit on the volume control keeps your highs intact even as you roll the volume down, so your tone doesn’t turn to mud on quieter passages.
Fender reworked the neck too. The new “Deep C” profile sits between a Modern C and a U shape, giving your hand a bit more to grip without feeling clubby. Paired with narrow-tall frets, it makes bending strings and fretting chords up the neck feel more precise. A bone nut and the redesigned pop-in tremolo arm – which locks in place and lets you adjust arm tension to taste – round out the playing feel.
