Description
The Jazzmaster was born for jazz players but found its true home in surf, gospel, new wave and indie rock, thanks to an offset body and a voice that’s just left of ordinary. This American Professional version keeps that rebellious character intact while updating the guts and feel for modern players. Finished in Candy Apple Red over an alder body, it’s a guitar that looks as bold as it plays.
At the heart of the tone are new V-Mod single-coil Jazzmaster pickups, designed by pickup specialist Michael Frank of Eric Johnson Strat pickup fame. They deliver vintage-flavored output with real punch, and a treble-bleed tone circuit keeps the top end from getting muddy as you roll off the volume. The maple neck wears a modern “Deep C” profile with narrow-tall frets on a 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard, giving you accurate bends and cleanly intonated chords without a fight.
Fender also refined the hardware where it matters. The Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge and floating tremolo now use a screw-in arm and brass Mustang saddles, adding stability and a touch of extra sparkle to sustain. A 3-way toggle switches between bridge, both, and neck pickups, controlled by master volume and tone knobs topped with white “Witch Hat” caps.
