The EVH Wolfgang Standard brings Eddie Van Halen’s signature design philosophy down to earth, giving working musicians access to the same core playing feel and tone that defined the original Wolfgang—without the premium price tag.
At the heart of the guitar is a basswood body with a comfort-cut forearm contour, keeping long sets comfortable rather than fatiguing. The bolt-on neck is baked maple reinforced with graphite rods, built to resist warping from temperature and humidity swings. A spoke wheel truss rod adjuster sits right at the neck base, so dialing in relief takes seconds, not a full setup session. The back of the neck wears an oiled finish for a fast, natural feel, while the fingerboard uses a 12″-16″ compound radius baked maple board with rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets, and black dot inlays—all aimed at effortless speed as you move up and down the neck.
Tone comes from a pair of EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups mounted directly to the body, which boosts vibration transfer for extended sustain. Volume and tone are handled by black knurled knobs paired with smooth 500k pots, tuned to Eddie’s own specs so you get plenty of tonal shaping without losing the pickups’ bright top end. For tuning stability under aggressive whammy use, the EVH-branded Floyd Rose Special bridge works with an R2 locking nut to keep pitch rock-solid through dive bombs and beyond.
