The LTD Iron Cross isn’t a stripped-down tribute model — it’s a faithful reproduction of the guitar James Hetfield actually plays, built around his personal specs. That means a set-neck mahogany body with a maple cap, a three-piece mahogany neck, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard carrying 22 extra-jumbo frets, complete with the Iron Cross inlay marking the 12th fret. The Thin U neck contour and 42mm nut width give it a fast, familiar feel under the hand, whether you’re chugging through palm-muted rhythm work or reaching for lead lines.
Pickups are James’ own EMG JH SET, active units voiced specifically for his tone, paired with a TonePros locking Tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece for rock-solid tuning stability under heavy playing. LTD locking tuners keep things locked in up top as well. Controls are straightforward — Vol/Vol/Tone with a toggle switch — so you can dial in your sound and get back to playing. This particular finish is Snow White with black stripe graphics and the iron cross fixture, a striking, road-ready look.
