Description
The G6122-1959LH brings the legendary ’59 Country Gentleman to left-handed players, developed alongside Paul Yandell—Chet Atkins’ longtime rhythm guitarist and close friend—to faithfully echo one of Atkins’ most cherished instruments. It’s a hollow body built for players who want vintage character with modern reliability under the hood.
The arched, laminated maple body carries simulated F-holes and multiple layers of binding, giving it that classic Gretsch silhouette in a Walnut Stain finish. At 2.25″ deep and 17″ across the lower bout, it delivers the airy resonance hollow body fans chase, without tipping into unwieldy territory.
Up the neck, a maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard hosts 21 frets, Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, and a slightly wider 1.6875″ nut—comfortable for chord-melody work and fast runs alike. A zero fret and 12″ radius fingerboard keep intonation and feel consistent across the 25.5″ scale.
Tone comes from a pair of handmade TV Jones pickups: a Plus HT at the bridge and a Super-Tron Classic in the neck position, wired through a 3-way toggle with individual bridge volume plus master volume and tone. The Bigsby B6GWST vibrato tailpiece—complete with stationary arm and optional swivel arm—adds pitch-bending shimmer without sacrificing tuning stability.
Gold-plated hardware throughout includes Grover Imperial die-cast tuners, an ebony-based rocking bar bridge, and a gold-plated nameplate on the headstock, rounded out by a gold plexi pickguard and knurled strap knobs.
