Description
The Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR is built for players who dive-bomb first and ask questions later. Under that Black Cherry finish sits a mahogany body topped with quilted maple, paired to a bolt-on maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard that keeps the low end warm while the maple neck pushes brightness through to the body. Twenty-four jumbo frets with vector inlays and creme multi-ply binding give it a fast, dressed-up playing surface across the full 25.5″ scale.
Schecter’s own Diamond Plus pickups do the heavy lifting here — overwound coils and ceramic magnets deliver an aggressive, high-output voice made for crunchy rhythm work, drop tunings, and leads that need to cut through a dense mix. Pull up on the push-pull tone knob and the humbuckers split to a brighter single-coil tone for cleaner textures, all routed through a Vol/Vol/Tone/3-Way switch layout.
Whammy abuse is handled by a Floyd Rose Special tremolo, the Korean-made licensed version built to Original Floyd Rose specs but with zinc alloy saddles and sustain block instead of steel and brass — plenty tough for everyday dive bombs and pull-ups. Schecter’s sealed, lubricated tuners run a 15:1 gear ratio for precise, stable tuning, backed by black chrome hardware throughout.
