Description
Telecaster single-coils have plenty of twang, but they can run out of steam when you need an amp fully saturated or a lead line to cut through a dense mix. The Red Devil for Tele is Billy Gibbons and Seymour Duncan’s answer: a humbucker sized to drop straight into the bridge position of most Telecaster guitars, no routing gymnastics required.
The design traces back to Billy’s love for Seymour Duncan’s Pearly Gates PAF humbuckers. Rather than simply shrinking that pickup down, Seymour Duncan reworked it around an Alnico V magnet, carefully voiced to push harder into saturation and breakup than a typical vintage PAF. The result carries that classic PAF character but with extra push under the hood.
- High-output humbucker voiced with vintage PAF sensibilities
- Alnico V magnet dialed in for stronger saturation and breakup
- Sized to fit the bridge slot of most Telecaster guitars
- Delivers sizzling fuel for cutting leads and pinch harmonics
- Adds saturated crunch and humbucker punch to a Tele’s tonal palette
Whether you’re chasing gritty blues leads, harmonic squeals, or a thicker rhythm crunch, the Red Devil gives your Telecaster a humbucker’s worth of attitude while keeping the instrument’s core playability intact.
