Description
The Jackson PDX-2 Demmelition King V is Phil Demmel’s spec sheet turned into a guitar, and every detail on it points toward fast, heavy playing. The Demmelition body shape is carved from basswood and finished in gloss black with silver bevels for a look that’s as sharp as the tone.
Under your hand is a three-piece maple neck that runs through the body, reinforced with graphite and carved into Jackson’s fast Speed Neck profile. The bound rosewood fingerboard uses a compound radius (12″ to 16″), so chords feel comfortable low on the neck while bends and solos up top stay smooth against 24 jumbo frets. Pearloid sharkfin inlays and white neck binding keep the classic Jackson look intact.
Tone comes from a pair of EMG HZ humbuckers, wired to dual volume controls and a 3-way blade switch for quick tonal shifts between bridge, combined, and neck positions. A Floyd Rose Special double-locking 2-point tremolo, paired with an R3 locking nut, handles dive bombs and pitch tricks without knocking the guitar out of tune. Black hardware and Jackson-branded tuners round out the build.
