Description
The Jackson DKA8M Dinky brings extended-range attack to Jackson’s Pro Series lineup, giving eight-string players the fast-playing feel and aggressive tone this platform is known for. The 28″ scale keeps low strings taut and defined, while the arched alder body and bolt-on maple neck deliver that classic Dinky snap and sustain.
The neck itself is built for serious speed: a 1-piece maple neck with graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint stays stable under tension, topped with a 12″-16″ compound radius maple fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets, and offset dot inlays. White binding wraps the fingerboard and the 4-over/4-under AT headstock for a clean, finished look, and a thumbwheel truss rod adjuster at the neck heel means dial-ins don’t require a screwdriver.
Tone comes from a matched pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers — the aggressive Nazgûl in the bridge and the more open, articulate Sentient in the neck — wired to a single volume and tone knob, a 3-way toggle, and a momentary kill switch for stutter and glitch effects. The Jackson HT8 hardtail bridge anchors strings through the body for maximum transfer to the wood, while Planet Waves Auto-Trim locking tuners keep tuning fast and stable across all eight strings.
