Description
Scott Ian has spent decades carving out riffs at the front of Anthrax, and this Jackson Select Series signature model puts his exact specs into your hands. Co-designed with Master Builder Mike Shannon, the T-1000 traces its roots back to Ian’s own ’87 Soloist, reworked here as a neck-through-body instrument with a supersized mahogany body, a thin 1/8″ maple top, and a hand-rubbed Quicksilver-style Silver Burst finish over that oiled maple neck.
This 1H configuration keeps things simple and aggressive with a single Seymour Duncan JB SH4 humbucker at the bridge, run through a master volume control – no extra switching to get in the way of the tone. The ebony fingerboard uses a 12″ to 16″ compound radius across 24 jumbo frets, so chords up top stay comfortable while bends and leads near the upper register feel effortless. Position markers come courtesy of artist Shepard Fairey, whose lightning bolt “High Boltage” inlays run down the neck alongside Ivoroid binding on both the neck and headstock.
Hardware is all business: a TonePros TP6 adjustable strings-through-body bridge finished in black, metal dome control knobs, and a phenolic nut anchoring NPS strings at .010-.046 gauge. Schaller locking strap locks come installed, and the guitar ships in a G&G case built to protect it on the road.
