Description
Chris Broderick’s tenure in Megadeth showed the world what modern thrash guitar could sound like, and this Soloist 6 is the instrument he built to keep pace with his own playing. Developed alongside Jackson Custom Shop Master Builder Mike Shannon, it takes the classic Soloist shape and refines it into something purpose-made for high-speed, high-precision metal.
The offset arch-top body pairs a quilt maple top with mahogany back and sides, finished in Transparent Red with natural binding that carries over to the matching quilted headstock. A quartersawn maple neck—bound in quilted maple and fitted with a Floyd Rose nut—leads to an ebony fingerboard with a 12″ radius and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, giving you low-effort bending and shredding clarity all the way up the neck.
Tone comes from a pair of Chris Broderick-designed Custom DiMarzio pickups, direct-mounted for maximum sustain and punch, with a kill switch wired in for those stutter effects he’s known for. A recessed Floyd Rose Pro bridge and Planet Waves Auto-Trim tuners keep everything locked to pitch through aggressive whammy work, while black hardware ties the whole look together. A side-mounted Rhoads-style jack, Ernie Ball strap locks, and a case round out the package.
