Squier’s Vintage Modified Telecaster Deluxe brings a genuinely historic Fender feature down to an accessible price point: the Wide Range humbucking pickup. Originally developed for Fender’s 70s Telecaster Deluxe and Custom models, these Fender-designed Wide Range humbuckers deliver a fuller, more muscular voice than the single-coil Tele sound most players expect, while still keeping that vintage character intact. With two of them wired to independent volume and tone controls, you get a surprising amount of tonal range from cutting bridge bite to warm, rounded neck tones, and everything blended in between via the 3-way toggle.
The guitar is built around a basswood body finished in gloss polyester, paired with a maple “C”-shaped neck that carries a vintage-tint gloss finish for that broken-in look right out of the box. The maple fingerboard uses a comfortable 12″ radius with 21 medium jumbo frets and black dot inlays, making bends and fast runs feel natural whether you’re new to the instrument or just new to Telecasters. A string-through-body chrome bridge with six stamped saddles anchors the strings for solid sustain and easy intonation adjustments.
Details that round out the vintage vibe include four black skirted amp knobs, a black-tipped toggle switch, vintage-style chrome tuners, and a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard. A four-bolt neck plate and 1.650″ nut width keep things sturdy and familiar-feeling in hand.
