Description

The original Starcaster was a footnote in Fender history for decades — an offset, semi-hollow oddball built in the mid-to-late ’70s that never quite got its due. The Modern Player Starcaster brings that curious design back with better build quality and updated appointments, wrapped in an Aged Cherry Burst gloss finish that shows off its bound maple top, back, and f-holes.

Underneath the semi-hollow offset body sits an alder center-block, giving it a middle ground between the airiness of a hollow body and the focus of a solid guitar. The maple neck has a comfortable C profile paired with a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and black dot inlays — all topped off with that unmistakable curved Starcaster headstock.

Tonally, this one leans on a pair of Fender’s own Wide Range humbucking pickups, wired to a 3-way toggle and four skirted control knobs (independent volume and tone for each pickup). It’s a setup that covers jangly clean tones and thicker, humbucker-driven textures without much fuss. Hardware includes a pinned AdjustoMatic bridge with anchored tailpiece and Fender’s standard cast/sealed tuners, all finished in chrome, plus a three-ply black pickguard for contrast against the cherry burst top.
