Description
The Modern Player Telecaster Plus takes Fender’s classic single-cutaway design and adds a twist most Tele purists never saw coming: a bridge humbucker with coil-split capability, paired alongside a Strat-style middle pickup and a traditional Tele neck pickup. The result is an H/S/S configuration that pulls tones from three distinct pickup families, all routed through five-way switching so you can move from fat humbucker growl to glassy single-coil chime without changing guitars.
Built with a pine body and a C-shaped maple neck topped with a maple fretboard, this Telecaster favors a 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets for comfortable bending and fast runs across the 25.5″ scale length. A mini-toggle switch tucked near the controls lets you split the bridge humbucker on demand, opening up cleaner, thinner voicings when the thicker humbucker tone isn’t what the moment calls for.
Hardware leans vintage-inspired throughout: a six-saddle, strings-through-body hardtail bridge borrowed from Stratocaster design, old-school tuning machines, and nickel/chrome finishing on every knob and screw. Knurled chrome-dome knobs handle master volume and tone, while a three-ply pickguard and synthetic bone nut round out the build. This particular example wears the Charcoal Transparent finish, letting the pine grain show through a smoky, understated look.
