Description
The 5th Avenue Cutaway Kingpin II takes Godin’s beloved archtop and arms it with two Kingpin P90 single-coil pickups, giving it real electric bite to go along with its woody, hollow-body character. This is the kind of guitar that shifts personality depending on where you point it – warm and rootsy for Delta blues and alt-country, snappy and articulate for jazz comping, or downright gritty when you dig in for rock and slide work. This particular unit is a demo model finished in Cognac Burst and includes a TRIC case.
Body and neck are built from Canadian Wild Cherry, shaped into a molded arched top and back with classic f-holes and cream binding. The Custom Polished Finish gives it a satin glow that echoes 19th-century French polishing techniques – understated, but with real depth. A floating pickguard and contoured high-gloss headstock round out the vintage-leaning aesthetic.
The Silver Leaf Maple neck runs a 24.84″ scale with a 16″ fingerboard radius and a 1.72″ nut width, topped with a rosewood fingerboard – comfortable in hand and quick to navigate. A Graphtech Adjustable Tusq bridge keeps intonation dialed in, while a single volume and tone knob keep things simple at the controls.
