Description
The Player Stratocaster HSS keeps everything guitarists love about the Strat platform — that snappy attack, airy top end, and woody low-mid warmth — and adds a humbucker at the bridge for players who need more push. Whip through riffs that call for single-coil sparkle, then flip to the bridge position for a thicker, more aggressive voice without reaching for a different guitar.
Under the hood, the Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker delivers a round, saturated growl at the bridge, while the Alnico 5 single-coils in the middle and neck stay true to that unmistakable Strat chime. The 5-way blade switch includes a coil-split option (position 2), giving you access to humbucker-and-single-coil blends most Strats can’t touch.
The maple neck wears a Modern C profile, comfortable in hand whether you’re playing chords or working the fretboard, and it’s capped with a maple fingerboard finished in a satin-back, gloss-front combo for a broken-in feel right out of the box. A 9.5″ radius and 22 medium jumbo frets make bends and lead lines feel effortless, while the updated 2-point tremolo bridge offers smooth travel and dependable tuning stability thanks to reduced post friction.
Rounding out the build: a synthetic bone nut, sealed tuning machines, dual-wing string tree, 3-ply parchment pickguard, and the four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that’s been a Fender hallmark for generations. Finished in Tidepool over an alder body, this is a guitar built to cover ground — surf tones, rock crunch, blues bends, and everything between.
