Description
The Strat sound is baked into Fender’s DNA, and the Player Stratocaster HSS delivers it with a modern twist. That bell-like top end, snappy midrange, and solid low end are all here, but the HSS pickup layout opens the door to heavier, thicker tones without losing the guitar’s core character.
At the bridge sits a Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker built for warmth and output, while the middle and neck positions use Alnico 5 single-coils for that unmistakable glassy Strat clarity. The 5-way switch lets you blend and split these pickups across five distinct voicings, so you’re never locked into one sound.
Playability gets just as much attention. The alder body wears a gloss polyester finish, while the maple neck has a satin back and gloss front, shaped in Fender’s comfortable Modern “C” profile. A 22nd medium jumbo fret was added to the 9.5-inch radius maple fingerboard, giving you a bit more real estate up top. The 2-point synchronized tremolo has been refined for smoother arm travel and better tuning stability, thanks to reduced friction against the posts.
Rounding out the build: master volume and dual tone controls, a synthetic bone nut, 3-ply parchment pickguard, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines, and the four-bolt neck plate with the classic “F” stamp.
