Description
The Duo-Sonic has been an alternative-scene staple since 1956, and this version keeps that scrappy charm while adding contemporary refinements. Finished in a vivid Capri Orange gloss polyester over an alder body, it’s a compact, comfortable guitar that suits smaller players and stage-movers alike, all set off by the classic three-ply Mint Green pickguard.
Its two Duo-Sonic single-coil pickups cover a wide tonal range, from chiming, jangly cleans to gritty, cutting chords. A master volume, master tone, and three-way toggle switch let you dial in bridge, combined, or neck pickup voicings on the fly. The 24″ scale length gives strings a slightly looser feel underhand, making bends and stretches easier while adding a touch of extra warmth to the overall tone.
The maple neck has a comfortable “C” profile and a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets, marked by black dot inlays, ending in a 1.650″ synthetic bone nut. A satin polyurethane finish on the neck keeps things fast and slick under the fingers. Down at the bridge, the six-saddle, string-through-body hardtail Strat-style bridge with bent steel saddles boosts sustain and adds a bright, articulate edge that helps the guitar cut through a mix.
Rounding out the details are Fender’s cast/sealed tuning machines, knurled flat-top control knobs, and nickel/chrome hardware — small touches that nod to Fender heritage while keeping this an unmistakably modern offset.
