Description
The Classic Player Jazzmaster Special takes Fender’s original offset design and quietly fixes the things players used to work around. The alder body still wears that unmistakable Jazzmaster shape, finished here in 3-Tone Sunburst, but under the hood it’s a different animal from the vintage-spec versions.
- Special Design Hot single-coil Jazzmaster pickups (bridge and neck) deliver more output and a fatter tone than the traditionally warm, lower-output originals
- A revised neck pocket increases the back-angle of the neck for better stability and sustain
- The tremolo plate sits closer to the bridge than on vintage models, sharpening the string-break angle and cutting down on unwanted resonance behind the bridge
- Adjusto-Matic bridge paired with a vintage-style floating tremolo and tremolo lock button keeps tuning solid while preserving that classic Jazzmaster feel
The maple neck carries a comfortable “C” shape and a Pau Ferro fingerboard set to a 9.5″ radius — noticeably flatter than vintage curvature, which makes bending strings and playing up the neck feel more natural. Medium jumbo frets across the 21-fret, 25.5″ scale board split the difference between vintage feel and modern playability.
Wiring stays true to Jazzmaster tradition with independent lead and rhythm circuits (each with its own volume and tone), switched via the classic three-way toggle on the lower horn. Chrome hardware, a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, aged white knobs, and vintage-style tuning machines round out the look. It ships with .010-.046 Fender USA strings and a deluxe gig bag.
