Description
The early ’70s Telecaster Deluxe broke from tradition, borrowing hardware from the Stratocaster while keeping the Tele’s bite intact. This Classic Series reissue brings that hybrid design back in a rich Walnut polyester finish, built on an alder body for balanced resonance.
The neck is a single piece of maple in a comfortable “C” profile, topped with a maple fingerboard set at a 12″ radius across 21 medium jumbo frets. A vintage “bullet” truss rod nut sits at the headstock, which itself is the oversized ’70s Stratocaster shape – a signature look of this era. The neck attaches via a 3-bolt plate with Micro-Tilt adjustment for quick angle changes without pulling the neck.
Tonally, the pair of Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups (neck and bridge) deliver a punchier, fuller voice than a standard Tele, with less hum and more headroom. Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, plus classic 3-way toggle switching, open up a wide range of blends from warm neck tones to cutting bridge bite.
Other period-correct details include a vintage-style Strat strings-through-body hardtail bridge, Fender vintage “F” tuning machines, chrome hardware and pickup covers, a 3-ply black pickguard, black dot inlays, and a synthetic bone nut. Scale length runs 25.5″ with a 1.650″ nut width, strung at the factory with Fender Super 250L nickel-plated strings.
