Description
Eric Johnson doesn’t chase tone — he obsesses over it, and this Artist Series Stratocaster is the result of decades spent chasing his ideal instrument. Built from a two-piece contoured alder body with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, it delivers the resonance and feel of a vintage-spec Strat while carrying Johnson’s own refinements throughout.
The one-piece quartersawn maple neck wears a soft V profile with a 12″ radius fingerboard and 21 polished medium jumbo frets, giving players a fast, comfortable ride whether you’re bending behind the nut or chording through changes. Staggered vintage-style Fender/Gotoh tuners keep tuning stable without needing string trees, and the special neckplate is engraved with EJ’s initials and a Kokopelli figure — a small detail that speaks to the personal nature of this build.
Under the parchment 8-hole pickguard sit three custom-wound Eric Johnson pickups with countersunk mounting screws, routed through a 5-position blade switch for the full range of Strat tones from glassy neck warmth to biting bridge snap. The synchronized tremolo bridge features a silver-painted block and 57-style string recess for that vintage feel and sustain.
