Description
The American Performer Tele HUM takes Fender’s home-grown Telecaster formula and adds a shot of thickness at the neck position without losing the bite that makes a Tele a Tele. Built in Corona, CA, it’s an alder-body guitar finished in 3-Color Sunburst with a gloss polyurethane body finish, designed for players who want vintage attitude with a few smart upgrades under the hood.
Up front, the Yosemite single-coil bridge pickup delivers that snappy, cutting Telecaster voice, while the American Performer DoubleTap humbucker in the neck position gives you round, warm lead and rhythm tones with the flexibility to split for extra sparkle when you want it. A Greasebucket tone circuit rolls off highs without piling on extra bass, keeping your cleans articulate as you dial back the tone knob. The 3-position blade switch covers bridge, both, and neck combinations through a single master volume and tone control setup.
The maple neck wears a Modern C profile with a 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets, making bends and chord work feel equally comfortable, whether you’re playing barre chords or reaching for the upper register. Fender’s ClassicGear tuning machines keep things stable, and the synthetic bone nut and 4-bolt neck plate round out a build meant for the stage as much as the studio.
