Description
The American Performer Telecaster HUM takes the familiar Tele blueprint and adds a dose of versatility, thanks to its HS pickup configuration. Built at Fender’s Corona, CA facility, it’s designed for players who want the twang and snap of a Telecaster with the option to switch into thicker, humbucker-driven tones without ever leaving the stage.
An alder body finished in gloss polyurethane carries the Aubergine color with depth and shine, while the maple neck wears a satin urethane finish for a fast, comfortable grip. The Modern “C” profile, 9.5″ fingerboard radius, and 22 jumbo frets make bends and chord work equally natural, and the rosewood fingerboard adds warmth underfoot.
Tonally, the Yosemite single-coil bridge pickup delivers that unmistakable Tele bite, while the DoubleTap humbucking neck pickup opens up smoother, fuller voices for rhythm or lead work. The Greasebucket tone circuit rolls off highs without piling on extra bass, keeping your tone clear as you dial it back. A 3-position blade switch lets you move between bridge, combined, and neck pickup settings on the fly.
Rounding out the build: ClassicGear tuning machines for stable tuning, a 3-saddle strings-through-body bridge for sustain and classic Tele feel, and a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard with the silver ’70s-style logo for a touch of vintage flair.
