Built at Fender’s Corona, CA facility, the American Performer Telecaster takes the blueprint that made this shape famous and updates it with player-first refinements. It’s a guitar that keeps the twang and snap Tele players chase while smoothing out the rough edges for modern comfort.

The Yosemite single-coils were voiced specifically for this series — they push a bit more output and clarity than vintage-style pickups while keeping that unmistakable Tele bite. Pair that with the Greasebucket tone stack, which cuts highs without adding the muddy bass buildup you get from a standard tone pot, and you’ve got a control layout that stays articulate no matter where you set it.
Playability-wise, the Modern “C” neck shape splits the difference between vintage-thin and chunky, landing somewhere comfortable for most hand sizes, and the 9.5″ fingerboard radius makes bends and chording feel effortless across the 22 jumbo frets. A synthetic bone nut, a 3-saddle strings-through-body bridge, and a 4-bolt neck plate round out the hardware — all familiar Tele territory, executed with tighter tolerances.
Comes strung with Fender USA NPS strings (.009-.042) and includes a deluxe gig bag for easy transport.
